ABOUT ME Armando Braswell is a professional dancer from Brooklyn, NY. While attending LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, he also trained at The School of American Ballet and The Ailey School. Upon graduating, Armando was accepted to The Juilliard School and received his B.F.A. in Dance in 2006. During his time at The Juilliard School, he also was a soloist with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet. In June 2006, Armando moved to Germany to dance with Ballet Theater Munich in the company's last season under the direction of Philip Taylor. In October 2007, Armando became a founding member of Gauthier Dance, the new resident company at Theaterhaus Stuttgart in Germany. Armando has danced ballets by William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, Hans Van Manen, Paul Lightfoot/Sol León, Mauro Bigonzetti, Phillip Taylor, Richard Alston, George Balanchine, Elliot Feld, José Limón, Carolyn Carlson, Eric Gauthier and Francesco Nappa.CREATIVE SIDE Aside from his dancing career, Armando is also an aspiring choreographer. Armando has created ballets for numerous festivals and competitions such as The 22nd International Competition for Choreographers in Hannover, The 13th International Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival in Stuttgart, and the 2009 Tanzwelten Festival at the Staatstheater Braunschweig. Recently Armando created the ballet "On My Side" for the Gauthier Dance production "Out Of The Box". In July 2009, Armando created "Duet For Six" for The Noverre-Gesellschaft with dancers from the Stuttgart Ballet.
