This summer was a true full-circle moment for me. I had the honor of teaching contemporary at The Ailey School’s Summer Program, as well as leading classes for the Ailey First Company and Ailey II.
When I was a student, Ailey was still in its old building. Walking into the new studios, I could feel the same powerful energy that inspired me years ago — only now, I was on the other side, sharing what I’ve learned.
It was a joy to guide such talented dancers, from eager students to world-class professionals, and to be part of the legacy that first shaped me.
